My younger sister got this for me for my birthday - I had seen the book in the store, but didn't really think too much about it. It's a good quality book, and takes you through the beginning of black metal underground in Norway, where the inspiration came from, and how the bands have evolved today.

As a former metalhead that came into the black metal scene after the golden years had ended this was a very interesting read. I especially enjoyed reading about the tape-trading and how they built a network pre-Internet, and how it was one guy here and another guy there coming together to create music.
